Our Philosophy
If you're looking to bring out the best in you, you've found the right place. At Pruter's Taekwondo, we believe that the warrior spirit is about transforming your body and mind into a place of physical and mental strength together with a winning mindset, both at the Taekwondo School and in life. When you put your heart into self defense, you will find all of this—and so much more.

Martial Arts Shapes Character for Achievement
Martial arts equips your child with the foundational character traits required for lifelong achievement.
Courage
At Pruter’s Taekwondo, we teach kids to face challenges with confidence. Whether it’s stepping onto the mat for the first time or trying something new, our students learn to act with bravery. Courage isn’t about being fearless—it’s about choosing to try.
Respect
From the very first class, your child will learn to show respect to instructors, fellow students, and themselves. Bowing, listening, and following directions become part of their daily routine. These habits of respect grow stronger with each belt rank, shaping how they interact at home, at school, and in the community.
Focus
Our curriculum is specially designed to teach students how to sharpen their focus in today’s distracted culture. At Pruter’s Taekwondo, kids learn to listen carefully, follow directions, and stay present in the moment. As they train, their ability to concentrate improves—helping them succeed not just in martial arts, but also in school and everyday life.
Self-Control
Through structured training, students at Pruter’s Taekwondo learn to manage their energy, emotions, and impulses. Whether it's waiting their turn, following directions, or handling frustration in a positive way, self-control is a skill we build with every class. It's a key part of developing discipline and respect.
Perseverance
At Pruter’s Taekwondo, your child will learn that progress comes through effort and consistency. They will be challenged to improve month after month to earn their next Taekwondo belt rank. Through setting goals and working toward them step by step, students develop the perseverance needed to overcome obstacles—in martial arts and in life.
Discipline
Consistently attending Pruter’s Taekwondo classes every week will establish positive habits geared toward long-term success. Through structured training, clear expectations, and goal setting, students develop the focus and self-control they need to succeed—on the mat and in life.
Leadership
At Pruter’s Taekwondo, students learn that true leadership starts with setting a good example. As they grow in skill and confidence, they’re encouraged to help others, demonstrate respect, and take initiative in class. When students earn an advanced belt, they may be given opportunities to lead warm-ups or stretching, or help with the Future Kids class (ages 4 to 7). These experiences build responsibility, communication skills, and the confidence to lead by example—both on and off the mat.
Integrity
At Pruter’s Taekwondo, we teach students to make the right choices—even when no one is watching. Through honest effort, taking responsibility, and earning each belt through hard work, your child will develop a strong sense of integrity that becomes part of who they are.
